Can YOU tell the difference?
Can you tell the difference between the two ingredients on the napkins? Is there a way you can tell if there is a difference between the two? What can you do to test the difference of these two things? Choose a napkin and pinch one of the samples each and place it in your mouth. Now what did you taste? Using the Chromebook, fill out the form by checking the box beside what you tasted? |
Do you know how you are able to taste?

A tasty Experiment
Let's Perform a Taste Test
|
Working with a partner perform a taste taste. Take turns tasting each item first without your nose pinched and then next with your nose pinched (this is done to demonstrate the role our noses play in our ability to taste). Using a Chromebook, record your responses on the Google Form. Was there a difference in the taste of their favorite item with or without the nose pinched.

Lights, Camera, Action...
Using Flipgrid, record your written responses to the following questions: What was your favorite flavor in the experiment? Why? Could you taste the flavor better with your nose pinched or without? Record your responses in complete sentences. Ex. My favorite flavor from the experiment was the potato chips. I like potato chips because they are salty. I could taste the potato chips better when my nose was not pinched. |
